Oil and Water Forum Introduction and Guidelines (Please read before posting)

Welcome to the All-Consuming: Conversations on Oil and Water Forum!

We are looking forward to an exciting year of dialogue about the variety of topics that relate to oil and water. All Consuming: Conversations on Oil and Water uses the lens of the humanities to bring fresh perspectives to issues relating to the access and control of oil and water resources. We hope that this forum will be a place of reflection, discussion, and imagination. To learn more about the issues being discussed in this forum, be sure to visit our Keep Learning page for this series, where you can find a bibliography for the series, a list of interesting oil and water facts, and articles related to different oil and water issues.

We are particularly delighted to have students from Pontiac Township High School and Maine East High School joining us as regular posters on the forum and hope you will join them in this conversation.

To keep the conversation as uninhibited as possible, anyone can comment on a topic without creating a username and password. However, only registered users can start new topics. if you would like to have a username and password you can create one by clicking here. Once you have activated your account, you can login with the "user login" on the right, or click here. Please note: once you have logged into the forum, you will stay logged in permanently, unless you clear your browser's cache or cookies. The "user login" box will disappear and you should not need to log in again the next time you visit.

Forum Guidelines

Please refrain from personal attacks, remarks that denigrate entire groups of people, flame throwing, trolling, baiting, and other actions that generally do nothing but cause trouble. We expect and encourage people to disagree on this forum, but to do so respectfully. Please do not post or link to obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit material.

The moderators will remove any posts that violate these guidelines.
